Financial problems drive three persons to suicide

A 34-year-old woman succumbed to the burn injuries which she had sustained after setting herself ablaze.

The deceased, K Shiva Laxmi, took the extreme step on August 20 at her residence in Addagutta. She was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where she died on Sunday night. According to Tukkaramgate police, Laxmi was reportedly facing financial problems as her husband Raju was unemployed and lazy and she used to do menial jobs for survival.

In another case, K Santosh Kumar, 39, a farmer, who had consumed poison on August 17 at his residence in Edulabad, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday night, according to Ghatkesar police.

In a different case, the Alwal police retrieved the body of B Pentaiah, 38, from the Hasmathpet lake on Sunday evening. Pentaiah had left his home on August 22 and is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping into the lake due to financial problems. (INN)
