Father poisons daughters, commits suicide, due to financial crunch

A man poisoned his two young daughter and later committed suicide at Qutubullahpur. Father and younger daughter died in the incident while the elder daughter’s condition is said to be critical. Ravindra Chari who was a goldsmith by occupation hailed from Medak. He was residing at Suram area with his wife Radha and three children. He was facing acute financial crunch and harassment by money lenders.

On Thursday morning he was busy as usual; his wife Radha had gone to market with her son Surya Prakash. When she returned home with milk and vegetables she learnt about he incident. Hearing the screams of the woman, neighbours came in and shifted Chari and his daughters to hospital, where Chari died while undergoing treatment; his younger daughter Aparna (9) died in the evening. Elder daughter Jayasri (10) is undergoing treatment and her condition is said to be critical. Inspector Dundigal Venkaturulu said Chari poisoned the daughters and later consumed poison himself.
