Farmer’s house looted, wife raped in MP village

Sehore: Three armed men today stormed into the residence of a farmer and after attacking him, one of them allegedly raped his wife before fleeing with cash and valuables.

The unidentified robbers entered the farmer’s house in Ladhkui village near here in the early hours. Armed with sharp -edged weapons, they attacked the farmer, leaving him injured.

One of them then raped his 40-year-old wife, Anil Tripathi, Inspector, Nasrullahganj Police Station, told PTI.

The criminals also disrobed the farmer’s 14-year-old daughter and threw her in a corner before fleeing with cash and valuables, he said.

The farmer stayed in the house with his wife, two sons and a daughter – all minors – and a visually-impaired brother, the police officer said.

The thugs, before decamping, added some substance in the family’s drinking water pot and locked the house from outside, Tripathi added.

When some members of the family drank water from the pot, they started vomiting. The victims managed to come out of the house after breaking a wall, the Inspector said.

The robbers were booked under IPC Sections 376 (rape), 394 (causing hurt in committing robbery), 450 (house trespass in order to commit an offence), 458 (house breaking at night for assault) and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, he added.
