Explosion reported near Istanbul metro station

A loud explosion has reportedly been heard at a major metro station in Istanbul, causing panic among the people.

According to the Telegraph, six people have been injured in the blast that was reported at Bayrampasa metro station, which has suspended all trains.

“Metro services have been halted after a sound similar to an explosion was heard, its cause remains unknown,” the Istanbul municipality said in a statement.

High alert has been issued across Turkey following the attacks on October 10 when two suicide bombers ripped through a crowd of peace activists in the capital Ankara, killing 103 people. (ANI)
