Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials concerned to expedite the works of Palamur lift and Ranga Reddy irrigation project.
The minister held a review meeting with Collectors of two districts and officials of irrigation department at Secretariat here. In the meeting he sought to know about the pace of the works of surveys, land pooling and acquisition and design change. Speaking on the occasion the minister asked them to maintain quality in the land acquisition and design changes for the projects. The victims of land acquisition should be given suitable exgratia avoiding further delay the minister stated. Every land owner helping the project should be paid necessary package, he said. Since the government is aimed to complete the project as per schedule the officials should take every care that no faults are found in the works.
The Government entrusted the job to agencies which should give priority to finish the works in clear manner he said. Design change is aimed to cater to the growing needs of irrigation sector and timely supply of waters to crops for better yield he stated. (NSS)
