IS executes 38 in Syria in July

Beirut: The Islamic State (IS) has executed at least 38 people in July in Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

The total number of deaths in the country in the hands of the IS has touched 3,065, SOHR said on Wednesday.

The London-based NGO noted that those killed during the month of July included 22 civilians including two children, seven women, in addition to nine combatants from militias opposed to IS and seven supporters of the regime under President Bashar al-Assad.

People were made victims on several charges, such as apostasy, adultery, sodomy, collaborating with the rebels, witchcraft, or other acts of treason such as taking pictures of oil installations or fighting for the regime.
