Ex-IAS officer Abdul Kareem Khan passes away

Abdul Kareem Khan, retired IAS officer and former Chairman of AP Minority Commission (Cabinet Rank), expired here on Sunday. He was 86.

He was the father of Telangana ACB Director General A.K. Khan.

Kareem Khan had served the State and Central Governments in various capacities. He had worked as Commissioner of Cooperative Societies, Commissioner of Civil Supplies, Chairman of AP State Industrial Development Corporation and Director of Printing, Stationery and Stores of Andhra Pradesh Government.

On retirement, he held the posts of Member/Chairman APPSC, Banking Services Recruitment Board and Chairperson of A.P. Minority Commission. He was held in high esteem by successive governments for his honesty, integrity and professionalism.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Shekar Rao, Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali, DGP Anurag Sharma, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Commissioner of Police M. Mahender Reddy and other senior leaders and officials have expressed their condolences over the demise of Kareem Khan. (INN)
