Every house should have a toilet: KTR

Panchayati Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao today appealed to the people of Melvalpally in Chintapalli mandal of Nalgonda district to set up toilets in each house on priority basis.

Participating in ‘Grama Jyothy’ program, the minister called upon the women led self-help groups and youth associations to play a key role in the task of cleansing their villages and shifting of garbage and trash to a dumping yard nearby. Local leaders and the associations should coordinate to implement a plan of action for developing the village, he said. Rural areas have to make up themselves to transform their villages as garbage-free and mosquito-free, KTR stated. He stressed the need for women and children to take nutritious food. ‘To keep at bay the diseases we have to give priority for cleanliness and plantation of saplings will prove handy’ he added.

At Bowenpally in Nalognda district Minister for Power, G Jagadish Reddy stated that women can do better job than their male counterparts. If determined the women associations can play key role in this regard and become role models, he said. If every village is made like Gangadevipally, golden Telangana state is possible by transforming them free from garbage to achieve rapid growth, he noted. Irrespective of politics, the people are participating in the clean drive, he remarked.(NSS)
