Enforce complete ban on smuggling of mining materials: Khattar

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed officers to enforce a complete ban on inter-state smuggling of mining material from the state.

He directed them to keep a check on overloading of vehicles saying one-year time given to enforce this rule on them expires on January 16 and no extension would be given.

The Chief Minister, who was presiding over a meeting of Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners or Superintendent of Police here said joint teams of Transport, Excise and Taxation and Police departments should conduct checking for its proper enforcement in their respective areas.

Reviewing the progress of online transfer of Old Age Samman Allowance and other pension schemes, he said about 18 lakh beneficiaries have been enrolled so far.

He said all DCs must ensure payment through bank accounts to 100 per cent beneficiaries upto October 31.

The work of mutations should also be completed by January 2016 and the DCs should also ensure adequate arrangements for ensuing sugar crushing season.

He also directed the DCs to appoint a Nodal Officer for meeting the purpose of Swah Prerit Adarsh Gram Yojana as many people from India and abroad are interested in adopting their villages, an official press release said.

They wish to adopt villages and after the appointment of Nodal Officer it will be easy for them to get in touch with district administration.

The DCs should also identify and prepare a list of people who belong to Haryana and wish to do something for their ancestral village, he said.

While reviewing the activities undertaken to control vector-borne diseases, he directed officers to prepare a list of challenges to be tackled in year wise fashion.

Reviewing the progress of CM Window schemes, he invited officers’ suggestions to further improve its operations.

Describing DCs and SPs as pillars of the government at district level, the CM said they should carry out welfare activities with better coordination in the larger interest.

He also directed DCs to ensure Gram Sachivalaya should be fully operational alongwith facility of Common Service Centre in at least 700 villages by December 25, the Day of Good Governance.

In addition, 100 per cent Aaadhar seeding should also be ensured by December 25.

While reviewing the status of paddy procurement, he directed the officers to find out feasibility for installation of separate drying machine outside mandis besides availability of moisture meter to measure moisture in crop.

He also directed the officers to ensure adequate arrangements of fertilizers for rabi season in 2016.

The CM reviewed the law and order situation, Aadhar Linked Birth Registration, Swachh Haryana-Swachh Bharart programme, Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon, and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme.
