Chandigarh, Dec. 11 : An elderly couple was mercilessly beaten up by their neighbour in a busy market yesterday which was captured by the CCTV footage.
Their neighbour was reportedly in a state of drunkenness, came to their shop and started to abuse the lady while accusing her of speaking ill of his mother, and then attacked her husband .
“I don’t know the reason. He slapped me and thrashed me. No one came to help us. Someone in the market has misguided him,” said Joginder Pal, the victim
“He should apologise, then I will forgive him. There was no conflict among us. He has been misguided that we spoke about his mother. He is child so we don’t want police case, we just want him to apologize. He is our neighbour,” said Santosh, victim.
After the incident, the police swung into action and arrested the accused. (ANI)
