Dy. CM orders survey of Wakf lands of Public Garden Masjid

Hyderabad: Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali issued instructions to Survey Commissioner of Wakf to undertake complete Survey of wakf property belonging to Shahi Masjid, Public Garden.

Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare told the Dy. CM that after the publication of report in Siasat Urdu Daily about the illegal possession of Wakf land pertaining to Public Garden Masjid, he had issued instructions to Survey Commissioner of Wakf for surveying the Wakf Property admeasuring 3362 sq. yards which is under the possession of the Dept. of Horticulture but these order were not complied with.

It is reported that there is 13811 sq. yards of Wakf land which belongs to Public Garden Mosque, out of which 3362 Sq. yards have been taken away by the Dept. of Horticulture. It is also reported that the employees of Horticulture Dept. have erected a temporary temple on this land. The worshipers of the Masjid and the organizations struggling for the protection of wakf land made several representations to Wakf Board which is located a few meters away from the spot has no time to take action. If Wakf Board cannot protect wakf lands which is under its nose, how can it protect wakf lands located in far off districts. It is said that the employees of Masjid are also irritated with the behavior of the employees of Horticulture Dept.

The Dept. of Minorities Welfare is making an attempt to take the possession of both the buildings located on either side of the Masjid. One building could be utilized for ladies corner and the other could be used as an extension of the Masjid.
