Dr. Muzaffaruddin Farooqui’s condolence meeting held at Urdu Hall

Hyderabad: A condolence meeting of noted Urdu Short Story Writer, Dr. Muzaffaruddin Farooqui who died in Chicago was held at Urdu Hall yesterday under the chairmanship of Prof. S.M. Majeed Bedar, former Head of the Dept. of Urdu, OU. It was organized by Forum for modern thought and literature. CEO of COVA, Mr. Mohammed Turrab highlighted the contribution of Dr. Farooqui in the field of Urdu Short Stories. Dr. Azeem Baksh gave the details of the contribution made by Dr. Farooqui in Chicago for the promotion of Urdu Literature and Culture. Mr. Masood Ahmed Khan remembered his humanitarian values. He was a representative of Hyderabadi Culture. President of the forum, Mr. Qadeer Zaman told that Dr. Farooqui’s contribution as the Ambassador of Urdu in America is laudable. Dr. Farooqui’s brother, Mr. Arifuddin Farooqui gave the details of his last days. Prof. Majeed Bedar termed the demise of Dr. Farooqui as the greatest loss to Urdu. Mr. Meer Ayub Ali Khan, Media Coordinator of MANUU highlighted various aspects of Dr. Farooqui’s life and works. A condolence resolution was passed in the meeting.
