Sydney, Aug.20 : Donna Vekic, the rising tennis star caught in the middle of the sledge drama between Stan Wawrinka and Nick Kyrgios, has slammed the Australian saying that the latter would learn a lesson after the outrage.
Vekic said that it was disappointing to see things happening like this in the sport, adding that she hoped Kyrgios would learn from the incident, Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Controversial tennis star Kyrgios had earlier made an ‘ insulting remark’ to Wawrinka during their Rogers Cup match in Montreal last week.
He, however, had apologised after being fined 6,400 pounds for making a derogatory suggestion about Wawrinka’s girlfriend.
The 20-year-old tennis player has been facing criticism over all the tennis fraternity after the ugly incident.
World number three Roger Federer, among several other leading players, led criticism on the Australian, saying that they were not used to that kind of talk in tennis. (ANI)
