Do we have separate laws for MIM, asks MBT

The Majlis Bachao Tahreek  (MBT) has accused the Hyderabad City Police of showing utter discrimination between the Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen and other parties, especially the MBT.

“The Rein Bazar Police registered cases against MBT leaders when their Public Meeting, held on June 12, was extended by just 30 minutes due to heavy rains. It also registered case FIR No: 144/2015 Under Sections 188,153 A, 505 R/W 34 IPC against me, Abu Asim Azmi (MLA) and Majeed Ullah Khan and our party President Dr Khayam Khan. However, the same City Police did not book any case against MIM leaders when their public meeting “Yaad-E-Salar-E-Millat” which was held at Khilwat Grounds on Friday night went to till 1:00 AM in the night,” MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan said.

In another instance, the MBT was not permitted to hold “Yaad-e-Ghazi-e-Millat” Public Meeting held on the death Anniversary of founder MBT at Dabeer Pura Darwaza. The police forced the MBT to change its venue to Chanchalguda Green Land Hotel and they stopped the meeting at sharp 10:00 PM. However, the Hussaini Alam Inspector remained a mute spectator when MIM continued its meeting past midnight. This clearly shows that Hyderabad Police is biased towards MBT and its officials are inclined towards the MIM, he said.

Amjed Ullah Khan also reminded that Hyderabad Police and other authorities did not take any action on the complaint lodged against MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi of misusing the Mecca Masjid for political purposes. The Hyderabad MP gave interview to NDTV anchor Shaker Gupta which was aired on November 21, 2014, in the premises of Mecca Masjid. Although several complaints have been lodged with Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Principal Secretary of Minorities Welfare Department, no action has been taken in this regard, said the MBT leader.
