Mumbai: Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Monday said that the DNA report conclusively proved that the Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder, is the biological mother of the victim.
“Today we have received the DNA report from the FSL(Forensic Science Laboratory). The DNA report states that it is conclusively proved that the accused Indrani Mukerjea is the biological mother of the deceased,” Maria told media here.
“Our team has taken the second accused Sanjeev Khanna to Kolkata. He lead us to the spot where we have recovered the shoes used by the accused when they went to dump the body. In addition to that we have also recovered the part of the jewellery of the deceased Sheena,”he added.
“We have a team of forensic auditors, Income Tax consultants, Chartered Accountant and Economic Offence Wing officers. This team has been working on studying the various investments, companies, various properties not only in India but in Spain and UK.Investigations are going on and Peter Mukerjea is also being questioned,” Maria added.
Indrani Mukerjea, and her driver Shyam Rai, were sent to 14 days judicial custody by a magistrate’s court here on Monday.The third accused Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani’s ex-husband, was taken to Kolkata by Mumbai police for further investigation. (ANI)
