DNA remark: RJD requests PM Modi to ask pardon from ‘big-hearted’ Bihar

New Delhi, Aug 12. : The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ask for forgiveness for his DNA remark, claiming “big-hearted” Bihar will surely pardon him.

Responding to a poser on former home secretary and BJP MP R.K. Singh’s assertion the DNA of every Bihari, including his, is different from each other then how Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar can connect his DNA with others, RJD leader Manoj Jha replied that Prime Minister Modi had started this custom.

“When Modiji was the chief minister of Gujarat, he used to say that it’s an insult to 6.5 crore Gujaratis whenever we used to point out any flaw, riot, malnutrition, etc. This has somehow reached Bihar that this was not just Nitish ji or Lalu ji’s insult, it was an insult of subaltern community,” he said.

“With his remark, he has caused immense hurt to the people of Bihar. We all are folding our hands and requesting that, in future whenever you come, please take back your words and ask for forgiveness. Bihar has a big heart and will forgive you,” he added.

The Janata Dal (United) has launched a digital campaign against Prime Minister Modi’s DNA remark, asking him to withdraw his barb directed at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The JD (U) has also rolled out its ‘Shabd Wapsi’ campaign as part of which DNA samples along with signatures will be sent to Prime Minister Modi, demanding that he retracts his words. (ANI)
