Senior BJP leader and former minister Dr. Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Monday demanded dismissal of Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav from the Telangana Cabinet.
Addressing a press conference at Assembly media point here, Nagam accused Talasani of enacting the drama of giving resignation to get inducted into the State Cabinet. He said it was ridiculous to say that the resignation letter submitted by an MLA went missing or did not reach the State Legislature Secretariat. He said if Talasani has submitted his resignation to Speaker S Madhusudan Chary, then it was bound to reach the Legislature Secretariat. “The TRS Government has been avoiding the issue stating that the Speaker has special powers. Even if it is true, such powers cannot be used to break the law. Since the Governor too has special powers, should he use them to dismiss the TRS Government?” he asked.
Nagam said that the Talasani’s fake resignation has hurt the dignity, honour and sanctity of the Telangana Legislature. Therefore, Governor ESL Narasimhan should immediately dismiss Talasani from the cabinet. “Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao himself should act against Talasani if he really believes in morals and ethics,” he said.
