The Kadri police have arrested the main accused who turns out as a Bajrang Dal leader in connection to a Facebook post that allegedly abused and threatened social activist and convener of Citizens’ Forum for Mangalore Development Vidya Dinker.
The activist who had lodged a complaint against the right-wing group for forcibly stopping the screening of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dilwale in the city, started receiving threat messages on Fb.
The activists of Bajrang Dal, in protest against actor Shah Rukh Khan’s comment on intolerance, had on December 21 protested against the movie and stopped its screening.
Vidya Dinker had also stated in her complaint that Facebook page called ‘Veera Kesari’ and its followers had uploaded remarks threatening to physically assault, rape and murder her. Based on her complaint, a case was filed in Kadri police station.
