Dept. of Minorities Welfare alert to protect Wakf Properties

Hyderabad: Dept. of Minorities Welfare concentrated on the sale of wakf properties by Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) on a large scale. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare instructed Wakf Board to get the details of the wakf properties sold out by TSIIC. He told the CEO of Wakf Board to contact TSIIC to get the Survey numbers of the lands sold out.

It may be noted that during the tenure of TDP Govt., the wakf properties belong to Dargah Hazrath Husain Shah Wali were allotted to A.P. Industrial Infrastructure Corporation which sold out these properties to various multi-national companies. TSIIC sold out the remaining wakf lands available in Raidurg, Manikonda and Kokapet through online auction. It fetched crores of rupees of income to TSIIC.

The Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare took initiative to get the details in order to cancel the sale proceeds if it is found that the sold out land belongs to Wakf Board.

It may be noted that Arubindo Company bought 5 acre land at the rate of Rs. 29.28 crore per acre. It has also bought 3.65 acre of land at the rate of Rs. 24.88 crore per acre in Raidurg. Earth Showers Company bought lands in Manikonda at the rate of Rs. 12.63 crore per acre. These lands have been sold out through online auction for commercial purposes. These transactions have the approval of the Govt. Wakf Board would survey these properties and compare them with its records.

Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel also told that an attempt is being made to acquire open lands left out for Wakf Board.
