Delhi Police probing the weapon misfire of Telangana trainee DSP

Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma has said that the Delhi police were probing into the incident of trainee DSP Srinivas involvement in weapon misfiring and injuring a fellow officer – Sub Inspector Ramana Kumar this morning while on tour at Delhi.

According to Addl. DGP (Law and Order) Sudeep Laktakia, four police officials including the trainee DSP and the sub inspector were in Delhi to attend a recruitment interview for the UN Security Force and were put up at the Room No 404 of the Godavari Block on the Telangana floor in AP Bhavan, New Delhi

The weapon of the trainee DSP Srinivas misfired while being cleaned and the bullet injured the Sub inspector in the thigh. The SI was shifted to a nearby hospital and is said to be out of danger. The Delhi police have sealed the Room and are investigating the incident.

DSP is not placed under suspension. but the Delhi Police is enquiring into the matter, said Sudeep  Laktakia. (INN)
