Delhi Govt. orders inquiry into death of child from dengue

New Delhi, Sept.15 : The Delhi Government on Tuesday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death of a seven-year-old boy from dengue, whose parents committed suicide as they were turned away from a number of hospitals.

“We have ordered a magisterial inquiry in the case of seven- year-old child’s death due to dengue. Magistrate has been told to visit the hospitals which had denied admission to deceased child and look at the CCTV footage of the hospital.

We have also asked to submit the report as soon as possible. The legal notice is given to the private hospitals and have been asked to reply within one month,” Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain told ANI here.

Delhi Government on Monday also cancelled leaves of all doctors and para-medical staff In wake of the rising cases of dengue in the national capital.

Earlier, the government had launched helpline number 011-23307145 to assist the dengue patients here. The Central Government has also asked the Delhi Government to increase the bed strength in the hospitals and to initiate action against the private hospitals, which are over charging the patients.
