Mumbai :Delhi Government decided to provide free rides for women in DTC and Cluster buses on the occasion of Bhai Dooj today.

Besides, DTC will run special buses for India International Trade Fair, which will be held at Pragati Maidan from November 14 to November 27.

“Government will provide free rides for women passengers in all DTC and Cluster non-AC buses (orange bus) plying in Delhi on the occasion of Bhai Dooj tomorrow,” said a senior government official.

The official also said that the women passengers would be allowed to take free rides on DTC and Cluster non-AC buses between 8 AM to 5 PM on Friday.

“However, free-ride service for women passengers will not be available on AC and Inter-state buses, which are destined to the towns beyond NCR,” the official said.

Apart from that, DTC has also made special arrangements to cater the extra rush of the passengers ahead of Trade Fair.

“Traffic supervisory staff will also be deputed for the convenience of the passengers,” the official added.
