Defence expert lauds Govt’s tough response to Pak

New Delhi: Defence expert P.K. Sehgal on Tuesday lauded the government’s response to Islamabad’s statement on disruption of events organised for prominent Pakistani personalities and blamed the latter for failure of talks between the two countries.

“I am very glad that India, in strongest and sternest, language has indicated to Pakistan that every time the talks have failed it is because of them. In Ufa, there was a loud and clear joint statement made by both Prime Ministers that fishermen will be released within 15 days, that the NSA-level talks will be held thereafter during which terrorism would be discussed,” Sehgal told ANI.

“Pakistan did not come for the NSA-level talks because we had two live terrorists to demonstrate to the entire world the mischief that Pakistan is indulging in,” he added.

Responding to Islamabad’s statement over the ‘disruption of events organised for prominent Pakistani personalities in India’, the Centre has said it does not need a ‘lecture’ as the hostile neighbour is not an ’embodiment of tolerance’.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office had earlier today expressed its concern over the protests against Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri and Ghulam Ali and had asked New Delhi to take immediate steps to prevent a repeat of such incidents.

According to government sources, India said that the Hurriyat being projected as a third party in the Kashmir issue by Pakistan would not be tolerated.
