The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after a three member report on the alleged DDCA scam did not mention Union Minister Arun Jaitley’s name, saying the former should apologise for his actions.
“Delhi Government appointed committee has not mentioned Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s name in its report on DDCA probe. It’s time Delhi Chief Minister should apologise to Finance Minister, and also go to court and admit to defamation,” senior BJPleader M. J. Akbar told the media here.
“Now lame excuses (by AAP) are being offered that this report was not meant to probe against any specific individual,” he added.
The report of the three-member inquiry set up by the Delhi government to probe the affairs of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) which was held out by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to have made out a strong case against Arun Jaitley, does not even mention the Finance Minister’s name.
The 247-page document points to issues relating to the reconstruction of the Kotla stadium like alleged irregularities in the construction of corporate boxes, but does not speak of any financial embezzlement during Jaitley’s tenure.
Kejriwal and Aam Admi Party leaders said the recent CBI raid at the Delhi secretariat was intended to seize the inquiry report that revealed Jaitley’s role in irregularities at the DDCA. (ANI)
