DCW chief appointment: AAP taking forward ‘jijaji parampara’ of Congress, alleges BJP

New Delhi, July 15: Criticising the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government for appointing Swati Maliwal as the new Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) leader Satish Upadhyay on Wednesday alleged that the people of the city want to know whether the AAP supremo is taking forward the ‘jijaji parampara’ of the Congress Party.

“The people of Delhi want to know whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is taking forward the ‘jijaji parampara’ of the Congress. Media reports are saying that Naveen Jaihind is the brother-in-law.someone else is saying that he has other personal relations.,” Upadhyay told the media here.

Upadhyay also questioned whether Swati Maliwal, who was Kejriwal’s political advisor, fulfills the qualifications required to become DCW chief.

“When the AAP came into power, Arvind Kejriwal had strongly protested against the appointment of Barkha Singh to the DCW. He had said that the chief of DCW should be non-partisan. He had said that it is below his morality to appoint a political person. What has happened to that morality now?” he asked.

“Does your political advisor fulfill the criteria required of a DCW chief?” he added.

The Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) has appointed party leader Swati Maliwal as the new chief of the DCW.

Maliwa, would be replacing Barkha Shukla, whose tenure ends later this week.

Her appointment has however run into controversy, with the opposition targeting Kejriwal for giving space to people from the party in the government. (ANI)
