Davis Cup final to go ahead despite security concerns, confirms ITF chief

Johannesburg, Nov.22 : The Davis Cup final between Belgium and Great Britain will go ahead despite amidst security concerns in the country.

Confirming the news, International Tennis Federation ( ITF) President David Haggerty said that they completely understand the terror alert being raised in Brussels, but for now they are continuing with preparations for the final, Sport24 reported.

Haggerty, however, added that the security of players and staff holds utmost importance.

Earlier, Brussels had closed its metro system after receiving a high terror alert in the wake of reports of an imminent threat of a gun and bomb attack.

The final will be held from November 27 to November 29 at the Flanders Expo arena in Ghent. (ANI)
