Dattatraya regrets suspension of Oppn members from Assembly for seeking relief to ryots

“The recent suspension of all members of the Opposition parties from the Assembly for merely raising their voice over burning problems of the farmers, especially their suicides, was very unfortunate” observed Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatraya here on Sunday.

Speaking at the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan’s 113rd birth anniversary program at the State BJP office here, Dattatraya suggested that the ruling parties in a democratic country should receive constructive criticism of the Opposition in a sportive manner. The Union minister also exhorted the youth to follow ideals of legendary Sarvodaya leader late Jayaprakash Narayan for protection of democracy in the country.

Dattatraya recalled that Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan had uncompromisingly fought against Emergency clamped by then Congress regime of Indira Gandhi and brought about Janata Party government in the country. Lok Nayak had launched struggle for corruption free government and protection of democratic values in the country, he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was striving to provide clean government as dreamt by Lok Nayak.

At the same time, Dattatraya lashed out at the Congress party for trying to sabotage development of the country with meaningless criticism against the government and trying to prevent welfare measures. However, the Narendra Modi government was not in a position to take lessons from the tainted Congress party.
