Dalits may ask separate country if Dadri like incidents continue, warns Dalit leader L Hanumanthaiah

Belagavi : L Hanumanthaiah, the prominent dalit leader and Chairman of Kannada Development Authority has condemned the Dadri  lynching  in the strongest words and warned ‘if like incidents continued happening in the country, the days are not far longer when dalits, who eat beef, will have demended separate nation for them’ reported Times of India.

If you (rightwing fundamentalists) start killing Muslims for eating beef today, tomorrow you will also killing dalits for the same. In that case, dalits may ask separate country, he said speaking to the media persons here on Monday.

Responding to the article in RSS organ Panchajanya that justified Dadri incident taking quotes from Vedas, which approve killing of anyone who slaughters cow, Hanumanthaiah said the same Vedas say that Brahmins used to eat beef in the era of Vedas. Vedas are not utter truth. What the present is only truth, Hanumanthaiah said.

According to dalit leader, eating meat is one of the food cultures and most of the world’s population is non-vegetarian. Even in Muslims and dalits all are not non-vegetarians, he said.
