Machilipatnam:A 52-year-old daily wage earner died here today with police saying that consumption of liquor caused his demise.
The victim, identified as V Srinivasa Rao, belonged to the Gandhinagar area of Machilipatnam, police said.
He is said to have consumed liquor this morning as well as in the evening without taking any food in the meanwhile and later suffered loose motion and vomiting.
“Soon, his condition turned serious and his family members shifted him to a government hospital. He died there during treatment,” said Machilipatnam Deputy Superintendent of Police, D Surya Sravankumar.
Chilakalapudi police have registered a case and an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
