Dadri SDM threatens Ikhlaq’s family from speaking out

Uttar pradesh: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dadri Rajesh Kumar has threatened the family of the slain of “dire consequences” if they speak out.”

Some people in the village alleged that the SDM had threatened the family, asking it to not speak against the Akhilesh Yadav government. The victim Akhlaq’s elder brother Jameel, however, denied receiving any threat from Kumar.

When the reporters outside the house confronted him about the allegation.
He hurriedly moved towards his car and dashed away from the area, refusing to speak on camera. The policemen surrounded him and he left.” As he fled the scene, angry villagers began raising slogans against him.

After he left the policemen started threatening the reporters and asked-who were they ? They searched them, checked there ID card and mobile phones including the pictures and if they have recorded anything.”

The correspondent who was towards the backyard of the house came at front and eyewitness to what happened after SDM left.

During the interview Akhilesh denied threatening the family. “I visited the family only to ensure them of their safety and assure them of all possible help,” he said. He also attacked on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by saying those who support a ‘pink revolution’ in India should ban the export of beef first.

Without naming Modi, Yadav said that those who are marketing the country abroad should consider what kind of food is eaten by the people there. That’s why we should not interfere in each other’s way of life,” he said.
