CS reviews arrangements for I-Day celebrations at Golconda Fort

Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma on Monday reviewed the arrangements for Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at historic Golconda Fort.

The review meeting, held at the State Secretariat, was attended by the officials from Police, Roads & Buildings, GHMC, HMWSSB, Protocol, Health, Horticulture, Fire Services, Archaeology, Cultural, Printing, Road Transport, Information & Public Relations and other departments. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed the officials to make similar arrangements as they did for Independence Day celebrations last year. He informed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will pay tributes to martyrs at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad and then hoist the national flag at Golconda Fort at 10 AM.

The Chief Secretary also asked the officials to make arrangements for illumination of public buildings including Raj Bhavan, Secretariat, Assembly, High Court and Charminar. He said fool-proof arrangements should be made for security, parking and other requirements like uninterrupted supply of power and water.

Signboards, mobile toilets and special buses will be arranged on all roads leading to Golconda Fort. Cultural programmes will also be organised at Golconda Fort on the occasion.

DGP Anurag Sharma, Political Secretary Vikas Raj, City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, SPF DG Tej Deep Kaur, HMWSSB MD Jagadeshwar and other senior officials attended the meeting. (INN)
