Crime rate down by 14% in City: CP

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy on Monday said the crime rate in the capital city was reduced by 14 per cent in the current year.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Mahendar Reddy said while snatching chains from women has risen, the atrocities against women like sexual assaults have come down compared to the previous year. He also disclosed that criminal cases under Prevention Detention Act were registered against 263 accused persons. He also disclosed that the She Teams have registered 1,111 cases till now this year.

The City Police Commissioner also disclosed that 33 percent of posts remained vacant in the city. (NSS)
