Passenger held with gold at airport

(Siasat News): The custom officials at RGI airport arrested a passenger and recovered 1.4 kgs gold from his possession.

The checking process of the passengers arrived from a Dubai flight, was going on when the officials found the gold in the luggage.

It was seized and a case has been registered against the passenger whose identity is kept under the wraps.

It is strange that during the month of August, custom officials at RGI airport had seized more than 10 kgs of gold from various passengers.

It seems that gold smuggling is once again emerging but the irony of it is that police never put any effort to trace the kingpin of the gold smuggling racket.

Youth arrested for raping the minor

(Siasat News): Hussaini Alam police has arrested a youth involved in kidnapping and rape of a minor girl.

Assistant Commissioner of police, Charminar division Mr. K Ashok Chakravorthy said in a press conference that the accused Mohd. Shareef, 23, resident of Aman Nagar, Talaabkatta, shifted 15-year-old girl from Hussaini Alam to Karnataka on the promise of marrying her.

However, after reaching there, he raped her. Over this, the girl objected and asked the accused to take her to Hyderabad.

On August, 22, Shareeef shifted the girl to Hyderabad and drop her near her house and fled.

In the meantime, the mother of the girl had lodged a complaint with Hussaini Alam police for her missing daughter. When the girl was found, it was revealed that she was raped. Police launched a manhunt eventually arrested Shareef from Shahlibanda.

It was also disclosed that the accused was earlier involved in 14 theft cases including the crimes committed in Mahankali, Chaderghat, Sultan Bazar and Afzalgunj. He was produced in the court and from there sent to jail.

Son ends life over mother’s death

(Siasat News): A dejected son committed suicide after the death of his mother. This incident occurred in Musheerabad police limits where R Kumar, 54 hanged himself to death.

The deceased was a private employee and resident of Musheerabad. His mother died on August 22 and the deceased was very upset ever since.

Police sources said that he was in a state of mental shock as he was very much attached to his mother. Last night he took the extreme step. Police is further investigating.

Robber’s gang nabbed

(Siasat News): Nallakunta police has nabbed a 3-member gang involved in many robberies and recovered stolen gold ornaments from their possession estimated to Rs. 2,50,000.

In the meantime, Dy. Commissioner East Zone, Dr. V Narender said that P Veda Vyas, 32 along with his two accomplices Gangapuram Ramesh and P Krupakar Rao used to ride on Pulsar motorbike and targetted women.

After snatching their gold chains, they used to flee the scene. This gang had committed the crimes mostly in Nallakunta and Amberpet areas.

A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
