Cricket Betting Busted – One Person Apprehended

The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, today generated actionable information after making sustained efforts and apprehended one cricket betting organizer by name Ashwin Bung, who was running a mobile shop styled as Sadesh Communications at Begum Bazar, while he was accepting cricket betting amount in the limits of Afzalgunj PS from the known and unknown punters directly and indirectly i.e., over cell phones for ongoing Nattwest T20 Series 2015 Match in between Lanka Shier Vs Hamshire teams playing in England today.  Police  Seized Two Dell Laptops,  three Cell Phones,  one Cash Counting machine, and  net cash of Rs.3,05,000/-.

The accused Ashwin Bung is native of Hyderabad, and is running  the shop  since seven years. But his earnings are not sufficient to meet his family expenses. He is facing financial problems and he hatched a plan to earn easy money by accepting Cricket betting amount in an organized manner directly and indirectly i.e., over cell phones from the known and unknown punters in Hyderabad,   and accepting cricket betting amount directly and indirectly i.e., over cell phones from them by watching Laptops on ongoing Nattwest T20 Series 2015 Match, and promised them to distribute the total amount after completion of the match.

The apprehended accused along with seized property was handed over to the SHO, Afzalgunj PS, for further action.     The raid was conducted under the supervision of  B.Limba Reddy, Dy.Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, by  L.Raja Venkat Reddy, Inspector of Police, West Zone Team with the assistance of SIs  M.Prabhakar Reddy,  D.Jalender Reddy,  M.Venkateshwar Goud,  P.Mallikarjun and the Staff of West Zone Team, Commissioner’s Task Force.
