Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu today asked the officials and public representatives to create awareness among the people about the benefits of Smart Cities.
The Union minister was addressing a seminar which was attended by Mayors, Municipal Chairmen, Commissioners of 40 cities. Union Minister for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, AP Minister for Municipal Administration Narayana also attended the seminar which was organized by Union Urban Ministry.
“Developing a Smart city is difficult, but it was not impossible”, Venkaiah Naidu said and called for people’s participation in building of smart cities. “The Centre is committed for developing of smart cities and a major role has to be played by corporators and mayors in developing smart cities”, he added.
