CPI Narayana urges AP CM not to auction Sadavarthy Trust lands in Chennai

CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh State government not to sell in auction the lands belonging to Sadavarathy Trust in view of large public interest and future requirements.

On behalf of CPI A.P State committee, Dr K Narayana wrote a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the issue of Sadavarthy Trust lands on Thursday. He stated, “We came to know that State of Andhra Pradesh has finalized the auction of Endoments/Sadavarthy Trust Lands for Rs 22 crore. The registration value of the land per acre in the vicinity of disputed land is Rs 6 crore per acre. Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu had donated 471 acres to Sadavarthy Trust in Chennai for general public interest”.

“The Land is situated in the heart of Chennai city. Due to lack of supervision and grabbing by government and private parties, most of the land has gone into the hands of several people. Under the circumstances, instead of protecting the land, taking a decision to sell the lands was bad and unwarranted.

“We request you not to sell the land which belongs to Sadavarthy Trust and protect it since the land is very valuable and it would be useful to future generation of A.P. Initiate immediate steps to protect the land and not to sell the same”, the CPI leader urged Chandrababu Naidu. (NSS)
