CPI to hold meet on Sept 9 over AP’s Special Status

The Communist Party of India (CPI) will organise a meeting on September 9 at Vijaywada to discuss the issue of Special Status for Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons in Kurnool on Sunday, CPI State Secretary Ramakrishna informed that representatives of various other organisations and parties would be invited for the meeting. He said that the Parliament has already given its nod for Special Status for Andhra Pradesh when the AP Reorganisation Bill, 2014 was passed. However, he said that the present TDP Government has failed to get the Special Status for the State.

Ramakrishna also alleged that the State Government has failed to deal with the drought situation in the State. He said that the CPI leaders would visit the affected areas from September 11. (INN)
