CPI asks KCR to drop plan to change P-C project alignment design

Telangana State CPI secretary Chada Venkat Reddy here on Thursday said it will be ridiculous to change the alignment design of the Pranahitha-Chevella project after obtaining all the needed permissions from the Centre.

Speaking at the Maha Dharna camp, organized in protest against the TRS government’s decision to change the alignment design of the project here, Venkat Reddy demanded that the TRS government construct the multi-purpose project as per the design formulated and approved earlier. Stating that the Pranahitha-Chevella project was the dream of the people of the Ranga Reddy district for long, the CPI leader feared that the district might not receive water after the change of the alignment design of the project.

Urging the Centre to intervene and do justice to the water-starved people of the Ranga Reddy district, the CPI leader warned the TRS government that they would intensify the agitation along with the farmers if Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao failed to change his decision on the project alignment issue.

CPI district committee secretary Balamallesh, party constituency in-charge Ramaswamy and others were present.
