CPI asks govt to withdraw cases against farmers

CPI MLA Ravindra Kumar today demanded that the government stop harassment of CCS officials in the name of quality measurements.

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here on Friday, Ravindra Kumar demanded that the government withdraw cases filed against the farmers immediately and extend ex gratia to the kin of farmers who have committed suicides. He asked the State government to spread the CCS centers across the State and initiate steps to make the centers help the farmers. He also asked the State and Union governments to respond immediately on the farmers’ issues and initiate steps to announce Rs 1,000 bonus to the farmers on every quintal of cotton produce. (NSS)
