CPI asks CM to convince Centre to revive levy system

Telangana State Council of Communist Party of India has demanded that the State government convince the Centre to revive Levy system of the Food Corporation of India.

Addressing a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Wednesday, Telangana CPI secretary Chada Venkat Reddy urged the Chief Minister to make the Centre increase milling charges of raw rice and parboiled rice in conformity with diesel, petrol and labor charges. Stating that rice milling charges were fixed some 20 years ago, the CPI leader also asked the State government to examine paddy testing milling system. He urged the Chief Minister to convince the Centre by bringing these issues to the Centre’s notice and see that the rice mills are not shut down. (NSS)
