Congress stages Maha dharna against govt’s apathy towards farmers

Protesting against the hostile attitude of the TRS government towards farmers, the Congress organized a Maha Dharna here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders demanded that the government announce a list of drought affected mandals immediately and initiate steps to implement the loan waiver scheme. They advised the government that there was no need of Water Grid Project as completion of Pranahitha-Chevella project was enough. Alleging that the change of design of Pranahitha-Chevella project was only to benefit the foreign companies, they warned the government that they would obstruct the Pranahitha-Chevella project at Kaleswaram by staging dharna.

TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress party Kisan Keth State president M Kodanda Reddy, former minister Sudarshan Reddy, former Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, MLC Akula Lalitha, former MLA Anil Kumar Eravatri and others participated in the Maha Dharna. (NSS)
