Congress to stage dharna over Pranahita project

Ranga Reddy District Congress Committee is organising a dharna on Wednesday demanding construction of Pranahita-Chevella project with its original design.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, CLP Secretary T Ram Mohan Reddy, RRDCC President Kayem Mallesh and D Sudhir Reddy informed that the dharna would be held at Pulusu Mamidi in Viqarabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district. TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other senior leaders will participate in the dharna.

Ram Mohan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was concentrating on Palamuru project while neglecting Pranahita only due to fear that Congress party would take credit for the same. Stating that the Congress party was not against Palamuru project, he advised KCR to first complete Pranahita and other pending projects before taking up new ones. He also accused KCR of creating a new rift between North and South Telangana.

The Congress leaders threatened to intensify their agitation if the State Government fails to resume works on Pranahita Chevella project. (INN)
