Congress slams PM Modi for not mentioning foreign policy in Independence Day address

The Congress Party on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi?s Independence Day address, saying the latter had not spoken a single word on country’s foreign policy.

“I have been going to the Red Fort for 35 years, this is the first time that a Prime Minister has not said a word on foreign policy,”Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad told ANI.

His 90 minute speech today did not give any assurance to nation that they (NDA Government) would fulfill their promises. They had sold dreams to the nation, and they are never going to fulfill it,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi touched upon various subjects during his Independence Day address from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort.

He vowed to relentlessly work towards eliminating corruption from the nation and added that his government has taken several steps to address the issue of black money.
