Congress searching for candidate in Warangal: Mahendar

Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy today said the Congress and Telugu Desam parties have no candidates to contest in the Warangal and Medak by-elections.

Participating at a program here on Tuesday, the minister accused the two Opposition parties of failing to find suitable candidates for the elections. He exuded confidence that the TRS would win in the byelections to Warangal Lok Sabha seat and yet to be announced Medak bypoll. There are no takers for the Congress and TD tickets in Telangana State, the minister claimed.

The two Opposition parties are suffering from want of leadership and are not in a position to field candidates for the bypoll, he charged. These two parties should refrain from making false allegations against the government, he said. The TRS Government was vying for the cause of poor and farmers, he remarked. The people, he said, will teach the Congress and TD a lesson Mahender Reddy said.

About the Transport department, the minister said he has asked the TSRTC officials to take all steps to improve services. He also said Rs 26 crore will be spent for development works at 26 bus depots in Nizamabad district. The RTC is improving its services and 93 lakh people are plying in its buses, the minister said. The TSRTC Bus Depots and Bus Stations will soon get all better facilities, the minister maintained. (NSS)
