Congress protest not linked to Rahul’s court appearance in NH case: Khuntia

AICC Secretary R.C. Khuntia on Tuesday informed that the Congress party would organise agitation on December 19 in all 119 Assembly constituencies across Telangana State against the BJP Government’s conspiracies against AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Khuntia said that the agitation was not linked to Rahul Gandhi’s appearance in court in National Herald case on December 19. He alleged that the BJP Government was targeting the Nehru-Gandhi family only for political mileage. He also condemned the statement given by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wherein he reportedly referred to Rahul Gandhi as a ‘kid’. He said even if Rahul Gandhi is considered as a ‘kid’, then why is he not entitled to question the government on its failure to help the farmers.

Khuntia also criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for threatening to finish Congress party in Telangana. He said that KCR has begun his political career from Congress and the party was capable of creating many more KCRs in future.

Former MP Mallu Ravi was also present on the occasion. (INN)
