Congress-MIM axis root cause of terrorism in city: HMKP

The terrorist act occurred in Dilsukhnagar points to similar things to come in future also if the administration fails to take tough measures, said Hind Mazdoor Kisan Panchayat State convener K. Venkata Subbaiah.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Venkata Subbaiah said the secular parties in Hyderabad, especially the ruling Congress party have been enchasing communal elements for political purposes. Their determination to win the elections with a certain type of vote bank, but those who help them to win the elections demand that their interests be served, he said, adding that the aim of the MIM (Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen) was is to drive away as many people as possible from the old city and this has been the approach of MIM since the days of Khasim Razvi.

Prof. Keshavarao Jhadav said the the encouragement to MIM by the ruling Congress was to eliminate Communist and socialist influence from the old city through its communal polities and the MIM succeeded in this and the Congress benefited from this alliance. He said this policy continued during the Rajasekhara Reddy regime and riots took place even in the presence of police personnel and the police officers claimed that this was being done under the instructions of Rajasekhara Reddy’s government.

Now, the policy has changed and the youth who were actively participating in communal incidents want to independent leaders and indulging in terrorist activities, Prof. Jhadav said. It is for the administration to change their mentality through other measures like better education and employment facilities.

Prof. Jhadav said the ruling and Opposition parties should realize that by encouraging violent elements, they have done immense harm not only to the old city but also to the entire city. He said the communal virus now spread to Nalgonda, Medak, Mahbubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts. The government and secular parties must ponder over this development and take positive steps to stop the spread of communal mentality, he added.

Former MLA P. Janardhan Reddy, High Court advocate K. Chandrasekhar, K. Anjaiah, P. Ramesh Babu, A.V. Ramana, Ch. Koteswara Rao, TMTDU president Raju Goud and P. Srinivasan were present. (NSS)
