Congress leaders from Ranga Reddy district welcomed the Godavari water at Ghanpur Water Tank in Medchal constituency on Saturday.
Former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Ranga Reddy DCC president Kyama Mallesh, former MLAs D Sudheer Reddy, Koona Srisailam Goud, Youth Congress State president Anil Kumar Yadav, general secretary Ravi Kumar and other leaders Bandaru Laxma Reddy, Nandikanti Sridhar and others participated in a big way in this program.
Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders said the Congress was the architect of bringing Godavari waters to the City. They pointed out that their government had completed second and third phase works of Krishna river water to Hyderabad to solve the drinking water problems of the Hyderabad. They found fault with the TRS leaders for claiming that they brought water to Hyderabad. They said it was unfortunate on the part of IT Minister KT Ramarao for stating that they brought permissions of Environment and Forest departments for the same. They also alleged that the TRS leaders were trying to gain in the ensuing GHMC elections by claiming that the TRS government was the reason for bringing Godavari water to City. (NSS)
