Congress condemns cancelling of Eid-ul-Adha holiday in Rajasthan

New Delhi: The Congress Party on Tuesday condemned the decision of the Rajasthan government to cancel the holiday for Eid-ul-Adha in schools and colleges this year.

Congress leader P.L. Punia said, “Cancelling the gazetted holiday of Eid-ul-Adha and organising blood donation camps in all schools and colleges on September 25 is the worst case of mockery by the BJP.”

According to reports, the BJP is organising blood donation camps in all schools and colleges in Rajasthan to mark the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, an icon of the BJP and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or the RSS.

“Deen Dayal Upadhyaya was a great person but it was not necessary to organize blood donation camps on 25th September,” Punia told ANI.

“We celebrate every national festival like Diwali, Holi, Bakr Eid. BJP should re-think on it,” he added.
