Cong. takes credit for Pak being shunned internationally on Kashmir issue

New Delhi, Sept 2 : The Congress Party on Wednesday said that it was due to the UPA Government’s foreign policies that Pakistan has been shunned internationally on the Kashmir issue.

Former Pakistani envoy to the US Hssain Haqqani had in an editorial said that Pakistan no longer enjoys international support on the Kashmir issue because of India’s foreign policies. The op-ed is published in the Hudson Institute website.

“This has been due to the continuation of our foreign policies, not because of the current dispensation. Our policy has been to have dialogue on Kashmir,” Congress leader Tom Vadakkan told ANI.

“What the diplomat has said, it is the truth, because internationally, Pakistan has been isolated on Kashmir, It is the truth what the diplomat is talking about,” he added.

Haqqani, said, “Kashmir is an emotive issue in Pakistan because of the failure of its leaders to inform their people that Pakistan no longer enjoys international support on the matter.” (ANI)
