Strongly condemning the threats issued by Minister for Commercial Taxes T Srinivas Yadav to opposition leaders, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Mr. S K Afzaluddin said that this act of the state minister was quite irresponsible and cowardly. He claimed that Congress leaders had always been striving for safeguarding secularism and democracy and never hesitated to sacrifice for that cause. ‘If they need to go to jail for the welfare and prosperity of the people and development of the state they are ready to do it.’ He added.
T Srinivas’ remarks show that he doesn’t believe in democracy and he has forgotten constitution, legislation and provisions of democracy, said Mr. Afzaluddin.
